Why general elections are so slow?

General elections are the only way to elect people's representative who form and amend laws for all. This is part of democratic process.

There is big problem with this, i.e. the election process is so long, lengthy, expensive and trustless. I know you guys living in a democratic countries(I feel sorry for those who are not living in democratic country) have no other option than to trust the process and people conducting the elections. But trust me this can be done better where we can have a system and process which can be proved to be trustworthy by mathematics. This should be done or else people in power will keep on manipulating things in their interest and we will have no way to actually see into it.

Don't you think the process of election can be made more transparent where you should be able to determine if your vote is actually being counted for the leader you actually voted? Can you do this today? If not, how can you claim to be democratic, may be its Monarchy or Autocracy under the hood. Who knows? Can you prove by any mathematics that your government is actually elected by you and not selected by few powerful people you trusted.

And power can be any of these, muscle, will and/or money. 

Do you think manipulation is easy?

No its not but if you can make the process slow, it will give them enough time to manipulate in such a way that it will seem more believable. 

Is that the only reason that general elections are slow? May be not, there are other reasons too like logistics issues, physical presence is required which itself is slow(can it be replaced by digital presence. Think and comment!).

The other slow thing is judiciary, its so slow that I will never prefer filing a case than losing some money. Its a loss going to courts if you are a common man. Politicians have deliberately kept things slow as this will keep citizens busy so that there is no time for fruitful work(filing case against bad politicians and expecting speedy trial). Note that more fruitful work will bring more transparency in system which is not good for bad politicians.

Slow is good for bad politicians and fast is good for citizens. Politicians have successfully kept everything slow for very long. What are you doing to make it fast?
