What is the goal of human civilization?

Humans have been on earth for quite some time. We read in history that we used to be roamers, had no fixed place to stay and then agriculture was started, making us dependent on places which were closer to river and easier for cultivation.

Do you think that at that point could we have decided to go back to our previous practices? Hunting and roaming? Note that hunting was done for feeding not for hobby as some of us do today, even though its banned for some animals, the civilization allows us to kill and eat some of them(like goat.)

You know what a computer program's loop does ; it has a counter which it keeps on incrementing and the execution depends on the new value of the counter. Is it a paradigm that applies to our civilization too. We are stuck in an infinite loop of time counter. We can debate over whether its infinite or not sometime else. But the point I am trying to make here is we have been just adding up the time while the civilization has changed the ways of its execution. 

Does it also make you think that what if the counter is not time and something else? I think time was there since the start of everything & its just the timekeepers have come recently. 

I think the goal of human civilization is to keep moving ahead as does a counter. Keep exploring, inventing and making new things. This is independent of capitalism but can be difficult to achieve without it. Money helps a lot to bring order in society and that is the main reason behind so much progress and growth of human civilization as a whole. Other animals don't use money or can't use any such similar system to work for common goal.

This may sound funny to many that why I am talking about animals using money but it is true for some humans too who are not using such system and are still backward in terms of technological progress.

Is there a need to have a better system than money? Can we continue the journey of moving ahead without money? May be we will talk sometime else. 

Sorry to distract you from main topic. I think the goal of human civilization is to keep moving ahead, keep adding one to its counter and keep progressing. We have to keep on inventing new thing, keep on exploring new areas, planets, galaxies. The sooner you also understand this and realize what you leave behind as legacy is worthless; whatever it can be ( a lot of money, property, gold or big business), the better it will be for you to realize that your only goal is to take the human race forward, not yourself, not family, not nation but whole human civilization as a whole.
